Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician First Assistant to support operating room care and patient treatment in a fast-paced environment. Under the immediate supervision of the operating surgeon, you will perform First Assistant duties, assist with case setup and turnover, and help ensure patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Certified Surgical Technician First Assist (CSFA) or Certified First Assistant (CFA).
• Current CPR certification.
• Requires at least three years experience as a Surgical Technician.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of established standards for patient care and acts as a clinical resource for the team.
• Proficient in set-up and turnover of surgical cases with efficient room turnover times.
• Assists surgeon intra-operatively and performs First Assistant duties under direct supervision.
• Verifies, labels, and handles medications at the surgical field under RN/surgeon direction.
• Maintains equipment files and mentors new staff in Surgical Technician responsibilities.
