Job summary

AdventHealth in Rome, GA is seeking an OR professional to support surgical teams during night shifts. Eligible candidates can receive up to a $20,000 sign-on bonus.

The role includes setting up suites, selecting equipment to match physician preferences, achieving hemostasis, and assisting with closures and dressings. Requirements include an Associate degree (preferred) and a high school diploma or equivalent (required).

Responsibilities

• Sets up operating suites according to physician preference cards and updates them as instructed.
• Determines appropriate surgical equipment and supplies based on physician preferences.
• Achieves temporary and permanent hemostasis using appropriate techniques; assists with closures, wound dressings and drainage systems.
• Provides visualization for operative sites through tissue manipulation, retraction, suction and irrigation.
• Handles instruments and equipment during procedures, anticipating surgeon needs.

Job Description:

Up to $20,000 Sign on Bonus for eligible candidates.

Work Schedule: Nights, 7p - 7a, Full Time, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. No Call Required.

• Utilizes physician preference cards to set up operating suites and updates cards as instructed.
• Determines appropriate surgical equipment and supplies based on physician preferences.
• Achieves temporary and permanent hemostasis using appropriate techniques. Assists with body plane closures, wound dressing applications, and securing drainage systems.
• Provides visualization for operative sites through tissue manipulation, retraction, sponging, suction, and irrigation.
• Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures, anticipating needs of the surgeon.

Education:

• Associate [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 2+ job related experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] AND
• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) [Required] OR
• Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) [Required]OR
• ABSA Surgical Assistant (SA) [Required]
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)[Preferred]

Pay Range:

$27.68 - $51.49
