Job summary

AdventHealth in Zephyrhills, FL seeks a Surgical Assistant to support the surgical services team with strong clinical competence and collaborative patient care. You will mentor staff, update procedure preference cards, and ensure accurate documentation while aligning with current regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of related job experience.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• CSA or CSFA certification required (NBSTSA CSFA acceptable).
• CST certification preferred.

Job Description

Demonstrates clinical competence in relevant areas of surgery with a concentration in their specific service line. Establishes collaborative alliances and promotes teamwork among staff and functional team members. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing, and documents information accurately. Manages stressful and emotionally charged situations with calm and focus. Develops positive working relationships with staff and other team members. Demonstrates strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Applies critical thinking skills with a strong customer and patient focus. Utilizes basic computer knowledge and MS Office applications (Word, Excel). Acts as a peer resource and mentor for the service line, training new staff in specialty. Creates and updates preference cards for surgical procedures. Maintains knowledge of current regulatory standards and service line practices. Performs other duties as assigned.
