Responsibilities

The surgical technologist will work directly with the surgical team, preparing the surgical suite according to patient age, medical condition, and surgeon preference. Responsibilities include performing sponge, sharp, and instrument counts as per hospital policies, and cross-training in other surgical areas. Competency in aseptic surgical equipment must be demonstrated annually.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification through NBSTSA, NCCT, or military training
  • Current BLS certification
  • Willingness to cross-train in other areas
