Responsibilities

The surgical technologist will work directly with the surgical team, preparing the surgical suite according to patient age, medical condition, and surgeon preference. Responsibilities include performing sponge, sharp, and instrument counts according to hospital policies, cross-training in other surgical areas, and demonstrating competency in aseptic surgical equipment annually.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing, or an appropriate military training program.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other areas.
  • Adherence to the facility’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
