Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking a Certified Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist to join our cardiac surgery team. You will prepare the surgical suite, assist the surgeon, and ensure patient safety and sterile conditions through all procedures.

You will collaborate with a highly skilled team in a setting with advanced technology, predictable scheduling, and on-call support while pursuing professional growth within our comprehensive cardiovascular program.

Qualifications

  • BCLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Vocational school graduate required.
  • TS-C Tech in Surgery or CST certification required.
  • Previous Open Heart surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize the surgical suite with instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist patients with transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while protecting comfort and safety.
  • Scrub in and assist the surgeon by providing instruments and handling specimens.
  • Monitor equipment and patient status during procedures and respond quickly when needed.
  • Maintain sterile field, ensure thorough room turnover, and support a high-performing team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and organizing the surgical suite with the right instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure safe, efficient procedures
  • Supporting patients with transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while protecting their comfort, privacy, and safety
  • Scrubbing in and assisting the surgeon by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the needs of the team
  • Monitoring equipment and patient status throughout procedures, taking quick, effective action when needed
  • Maintaining a sterile field, ensuring thorough room turnover, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Vocational School Graduate
  • (TS-C) Tech in Surgery - Certified, or (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist
  • Previous Open Heart experience required
