Job summary

Orting School District is seeking a Substitute Teacher (Certificated) to provide instruction when the regular teacher is absent and to implement the district’s curriculum, creating positive learning experiences for all students. You will build relationships with students, parents, and staff while delivering prepared lessons.

The position reports to the Principal and requires a valid Washington State teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement, as well as a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with appropriate endorsement is required.
• Knowledge of district curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in locations and times designated.
• Assesss student needs and provide a suitable learning environment.
• Maintain order and foster a safe, respectful classroom climate.
• Follow lesson plans provided by the teacher and deliver instruction accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with parents and staff as needed.
