Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to provide alcohol and drug treatment services within a multidisciplinary team. You will engage clients in treatment planning, collaborate with therapists and case managers, and maintain compliant clinical documentation.

The role is on-site, reports to the Clinical Program Manager, and requires a Bachelor’s degree with AOD certification and at least one year of SUD experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and licensure/certification in Alcohol and Drug counseling.
• Minimum of one year experience in SUD treatment services.
• Must pass fingerprint/background checks and TB/Immunization requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group and family counseling.
• Screen, assess, and admit clients and conduct intake per ASAM/clinical protocols.
• Maintain timely, accurate electronic health records and documentation.
• Collaborate with Case Manager and therapist to coordinate care and services.
• Transport program participants to appointments and assist with outreach activities.
