Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking a Certified Sub Arc Machine Operator for our Houma, LA fabrication yard. You will operate SAW equipment for structural and pipe projects, ensuring welding quality meets QA and NDT standards.

Responsibilities include following instructions, using grinders and torches, and maintaining a safe work environment. A valid high school diploma or GED is required, with training available for certified welders.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified Sub Arc machine operator.
• Must demonstrate ability to pass written and practical welding tests.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must pass background check and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate welding machine for SAW and automatic processes.
• Perform welding for structural and pipe projects as assigned.
• Pass AWS D1.1 welding test per latest edition.
• Maintain welding quality to pass NDT testing.
• Work safely and efficiently with tools and equipment.
