The Sterile Processing Technician supports the operating room team by preparing and delivering surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment. Under supervision, they clean, package, process surgical instruments, and maintain inventory. They operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, washer disinfectors, and ultrasonic cleaners, and manage multiple computer applications for sterilization tracking.
Must be 18 years of age prior to start date and hold Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certification as a Central Processing Technician (CRCST).
Prefer two years of experience in sterilization processing within the last four years or vocational certification as a Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant within the last two years. Alternatively, at least two years of experience as a Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant in an acute care setting within the last five years. Knowledge of medical terminology and strong communication skills are preferred. Must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently, sometimes above shoulder level.
