Job summary

UVA Health University Medical Center in Charlottesville seeks a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support high-acuity surgical services. You will ensure infection prevention and surgical readiness, partnering with OR and perioperative teams to maintain safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year or relevant experience preferred; CNA/EMT/PCT/CMA preferred.
• Licensure: No certification required at hire; some certifications may be required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of instruments and equipment.
• Prepare and assemble surgical trays following tray listings.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and document parameters for compliance and safety.
• Maintain accurate tracking of instruments and trays using barcode systems.
• Support OR readiness by pulling cases, restocking supplies, and expediting instrumentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized and compliant work environment.
