Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified in Sterile Processing and Distribution within two years of employment.
• Knowledgeable of medical terminology.
• Demonstrate interest and ability to learn psychomotor skills.
• Solid interpersonal skills including listening, talking, patience, judgment and initiative.
• Ability to read, speak, write, and follow instruction manuals in English.

Responsibilities

• Assemble all components of trays used within area of responsibility.
• Keep equipment coordinator informed of problems with equipment and instruments.
• Use sterilization processes in place (steam, Sterrad, Steris).
• Maintain event-related sterility according to procedure.
• Understand decontamination and sterilization processes of instruments and equipment.
• Understand instruments and instrument trays used daily and their maintenance.
• Use Impress Instrument Tracking System in area.
