Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Sterile Processing professional to manage decontamination, cleaning, sterilization, and reprocessing of surgical instruments for the Perioperative Department. This role coordinates with SPD, Perioperative Services, and Nursing Units to ensure seamless operations.

The position requires 1–2 years in sterile processing, with a HSD or equivalent and CRCST/HSPA CER certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates understanding of infection control procedures in decontamination and reprocessing.
• Follows written policies for decontamination and packaging of instruments.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self/Others/Leaders.
• Acts as liaison between SPD, Perioperative Services, and nursing units.
• Take physical inventories of Floor Stock and SPD to ensure accuracy.
• Instructs associates on proper use of inventory control devices like scanners.
• Ensure sound inventory rotation and custody of all stock.
• Leads in implementation of quality control programs.
• Participates in continuing education related to SPD operations.
