Job Summary

Performs advanced pharmaceutical services in specialized areas such as compounding, remote dispensaries, or medication history. Acts as an expert with equipment and technology, identifies quality improvement opportunities, and supports operational changes. Serves as a resource for team members and collaborates with leadership on training and communication. Must provide age-appropriate patient care and adhere to regulatory standards.

Major Responsibilities
  • Perform complex pharmaceutical services in specialized environments.
  • Act as an expert with equipment and technology, troubleshooting issues.
  • Identify quality improvement opportunities to enhance patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
  • Serve as a resource and problem-solver for the team and other departments.
  • Develop and coordinate staff education, training, and competencies.
  • Communicate changes and collaborate with system pharmacy teams.
  • Provide age-specific patient care based on developmental principles.
Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification
  • Pharmacy Technician license or registration in WI.
  • Certification (CPhT) by PTCB or ExCPT within two years of hire; must sit for exam at least once within the first year.
Educational and Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma.
  • Typically 5 years of pharmacy technician experience, depending on specialty.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong math, attention to detail, customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and take initiative.
  • Advanced computer skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and reach for long periods.
  • Lift and carry items up to 35 lbs; push/pull with 30 lbs force.
  • Travel between pharmacy locations as needed.
