Job summary

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking a CERTIFIED SPECIAL INSPECTOR with 2–5 years of relevant test experience for work in the Greater Philadelphia area.

You will verify construction is being completed in accordance with plans and specifications, carry out inspections, sampling and testing, and coordinate with clients and GTA Project Managers. You’ll record daily field reports and assist in technical reporting, with travel to PA/NJ/DE as needed.

Qualifications

• ICC Certifications (Soils, Masonry, Fireproofing, Structural Steel Welding, Structural Steel Bolting, Reinforced Concrete) or equivalent.
• ACI CCS or ASTM Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I or similar.
• NICET certifications at various levels are accepted.
• P.E./E.I.T./P.G./G.I.T. licenses are valued.
• NICET and ASNT credentials supported for QA/QC testing.

Responsibilities

• Verify construction is completed per plans and specs.
• Carry out inspections, sampling and testing.
• Record and document field work in daily reports.

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking a CERTIFIED SPECIAL INSPECTORwith 2-5 years of relevant test experience for work in the Greater Philadelphia area.

SPECIAL INSPECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Verify construction is being completed in accordance with all plans and specifications
• Carry out inspections, sampling and testing
• Coordinate with clients, general contractors, and GTA Project Managers
• Record and document the construction in daily field reports
• Contribute to the generation of technical reports and special inspection summaries
• Oversee, train, and mentor junior/less-experienced staff

SPECIAL INSPECTOR REQUIREMENTS

• At least one of the following:
• o ICC Certifications (Soils, Masonry, Fireproofing,Structural Steel Welding, Structural Steel Bolting, Reinforced Concrete, etc.)
• o ACI Certified Construction Special Inspector (CCS), ACI CCS, ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I, ACI/CRSI Certificate for Post-Installed Concrete Anchor Installation Inspector.
• o Special Inspection of Firestopping
• At least one of the following:
• o P.E., E.I.T, P.G., G.I.T.
• o NICET Level I, II, III or IV (Geotechnical Engineering Technology Construction)
• o NICET Level I,II, III, or IV (Soils Certificate in Construction Materials Testing)
• o AWS or CWI
• o American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) Level II or III
• Register as a Special Inspector with Philadelphia License and Inspection (L&I) ECLIPSE program.
• Own reliable transportation, valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Visa sponsorship not available)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willing to travel and work in the Tri-State Area (PA, NJ, DE) and in the City of Philadelphia
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unaided and up to 100 lbs. with assistance; frequent bending, hammering and other repetitious movements
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe
