Job summary

Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 is seeking a qualified school nurse to support students' health needs under ISBE guidelines. The nurse will make health-related recommendations for IEPs/504 plans, participate in interdisciplinary meetings, and administer first aid and mandated screenings in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Illinois educator license registered in Will County.
• School Nurse endorsement for all grade levels.
• IDPH certification in vision and hearing.
• CPR/AED certification current.

Responsibilities

• Make health-related educational recommendations for students' IEPs or 504 plans per ISBE guidelines.
• Participate in meetings and interdisciplinary teams for gathering and sharing information on students' health needs, services, and programs.
• Administer first aid and specialized medical treatments.
• Assist with mandated screenings (vision, dental, hearing).
• Assess situations for student safety and other related issues.
• Contact parents to advise them of changes in students' health.
• Collaborate with building RN and district lead nurse.
• Collaborate with parents, students, and health care providers.
• Foster and maintain students' confidential files and records.
• Obtain medications and properly maintain medications per district policies.

Education

State of Illinois Professional Educator License registered in Will County

School Nurse endorsement for all grade levels

Illinois Department of Public Health certified in vision and hearing

Current CPR/AED Certification
