Job summary

Hereford Elementary School in Hereford, Pennsylvania is seeking a Certified School Nurse to join our district care team. You will manage IHPs, oversee nursing staff at the elementary level, dispense medications, and ensure students receive appropriate health care in a least restrictive environment.

The ideal candidate holds a PDE School Nurse Certification and an active RN license, with preference for prior experience as a School Nurse.

Qualifications

• Valid PDE School Nurse Certification and active RN License.
• Experience as a Certified School Nurse is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.
• Must have good organizational skills, maintain confidentiality and be flexible.

Responsibilities

• Act as case manager in writing and implementing Individualized Health Plans (IHPs).
• Provide oversight of Staff Nurses at the Elementary level.
• Dispense and monitor medications administered during the school day.
• Provide appropriate, necessary health care to allow students the least restrictive learning environment possible.
• Provide emergency first aid to students and staff.
• Conduct mandated health screenings, health testing, and examinations; recommend appropriate action as needed.
• Facilitate operation of health room including ordering supplies, compilation and maintenance of accurate health records maintaining, preparing and submitting reports
• Attend District training sessions, field trips, as needed/required.
• Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and/or Assistant Superintendent

REPORTS TO: Building Principal andAssistant Superintendent

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-TimeProfessional employee for 190school days (member of Collective Bargaining Unit)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience as a Certified School Nurseis preferred.
