Job summary

EDU-AIDs is seeking a compassionate Certified School Counsellor to join our team on a part-time basis. You will support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being in a positive, inclusive learning environment.

The role collaborates with families, educators, and school staff to promote student success, while maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics in a school setting. Requires Minnesota state licensure, master's in counseling, and ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Valid certification or licensure as a School Counsellor in the applicable state.
• Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Previous experience working in a school-based setting preferred.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention strategies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group counseling services to students addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
• Conduct assessments and identify students who may benefit from counseling interventions and support services.
• Develop and implement strategies to promote social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and positive coping skills.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, parents, and child study teams to support student achievement and well‑being.
• Assist with crisis intervention and provide appropriate referrals to community resources when necessary.
• Participate in IEP, 504, and multidisciplinary team meetings as required.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely student records in compliance with school policies and regulations.
• Monitor student progress and recommend appropriate interventions and support plans.
• Participate in professional development and training activities as required.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment for all students.
