Job summary

Acuity International is seeking a seasoned EHS leader to oversee the Environmental, Health, and Safety program across secure facilities. You will ensure injury prevention, regulatory compliance, and a proactive safety culture in multiple high-security sites.

Responsibilities include policy development, risk assessments, incident investigations, OSHA/NFPA/EPA compliance, ACA accreditation readiness, and emergency drills. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience; heavy industrial preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) required or obtained within 12 months of hire.

  • Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and training.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and local regulations and manage reporting.
  • Lead safety programs for ACA accreditation and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene sampling, hazard communication, and PPE programs.
  • Chair the Safety Committee and report safety metrics to leadership.
  • Plan emergency drills and coordinate with Security and Medical.

Primary Function

Leads and oversees the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program for secure facility operations, ensuring injury prevention, regulatory compliance, and a proactive safety culture across one or more high security sites.

All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity International is recognized. Actively support and uphold the Company's stated vision, mission, and values.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and training; conduct risk assessments and JHAs.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and state/local regulations; manage required reporting.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and documentation of safety-related programs and practices required for ACA accreditation, ensuring all EHS components meet or exceed applicable audit standards.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene sampling, hazard communication, and PPE programs.
  • Chair the Safety Committee; analyze leading/lagging indicators and present to leadership.
  • Plan and lead emergency drills (fire, severe weather, medical, evacuation) in coordination with Security and Medical.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with federal privacy standards.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain favorable background investigations.
  • Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident, Resided in the US for 3 years in the past 5 years.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience; heavy industrial preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) required or obtained within 12 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional credentials (CHST, CIH, ASP) and ICT/NIMS training.
  • Has undergone a federal investigation at the level of Tier 2 or higher; has been granted favorable suitability/eligibility and has not had a break in service for more than 24 months.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
  • Must complete all required training.
  • Ability to work in a secure facility and comply with security protocols.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and lift up to 25-35 lbs as role requires.
  • Participate in drills and emergency responses as assigned.
  • Ability to travel.
