Job summary

Trinity Health MI in Muskegon, MI is seeking a RN First Assistant to provide perioperative nursing care and to assist the surgeon during safe operations, following the nursing process from admission to discharge.

This full-time, day-shift role involves variable days per week based on the surgical schedule, maintaining THMH policies and standards, and upholding our commitment to equal opportunity and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Provide perioperative nursing care using the nursing process.

• RN First Assistant does not function as a scrub nurse.

Description

40hrs per pp 6:45a-515p variable. Varying days of the week depending on Surgery Schedule and needs for FA role. Provides quality nursing care to assigned perioperative patients through the use of the nursing process. Accountable for all care delivered throughout the perioperative period until discharged. Maintains the standard of nursing practice and function within the limits of THMH policies as well as the Michigan Nurse Practice Act. Carries out functions to assist the surgeon in performing safe operations with optimal outcomes for the patient. The RN First Assistant practices perioperative nursing and has acquired the knowledge, skill, and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon, through organized supervision of the surgeon during the first assisting phase of the perioperative role. The RN First Assistant does not concurrently function as a scrub nurse.
