Certified Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapy - Full Time

Description

Summary:
Responsible for providing pulmonary care to critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the supervision of a physician. Performs various respiratory therapy procedures and assessments, and develops respiratory care plans.

Responsibilities:

• Meet expectations of applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Respond to emergencies (Code Blue and White).
• Manage airways, including nasotracheal & endotracheal suctioning.
• Administer aerosolized drugs.
• Manage ventilators (setup and operation).
• Perform oral hygiene and maintain airway devices.
• Manage airway support devices such as BiPAP and CPAP.
• Administer oxygen and monitor therapeutic responses.
• Analyze chest films and blood gases.
• Conduct EKG analysis.
• Ensure accurate documentation.
• Clean and stock equipment and supplies.
• Participate in CAP and JC surveys.
• Potentially serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader.
• Advanced skills may include gas management, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assistance, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, and nocturnal SpO2 evaluation.

Job Requirements:

• Licensure and/or certification as per requirements.
• 2-3 years of experience preferred.
• RCP license in the state of employment required.
• BLS certification required.
• CRT certification through NBRC required.
