Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Nights 6:30 pm to 7:00 am

The role you’ll contribute:

Perform clinical patient assessments, deliver therapies including breathing treatments, EKGs, arterial blood gases, manage oxygen therapy, perform intubations, and operate mechanical ventilators per protocol or physician orders. Assess patients for respiratory protocols to determine treatment types and frequency. Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record, including interdisciplinary education and care plans.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Deliver care to patients with respiratory conditions, including aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, ventilation, and lung function testing. Responsible for blood gas analysis and results.
• If leading a shift, review workload, assign staff, serve as a technical resource, ensure completion of tasks, ECG removal, and overdue medication and task clearance.
• Experience in an acute hospital setting within the last year.
• Perform respiratory treatments competently according to physician orders, department policies, and standards of care.
• Willing to rotate across all patient care areas.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Completed a respiratory therapy program prior to licensure
• Basic computer skills including Word and Excel, and medical record documentation
• Knowledge of mechanical and non-invasive ventilation
• At least one year of critical care experience
• CRT license in Florida
• Ongoing continuing education to meet licensure requirements
• BLS and ACLS certification upon hire
