Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Kaplan, LA is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist for PRN coverage. The role provides respiratory care treatments, oxygen services, and diagnostic testing for neonatal to geriatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will monitor oxygen therapy, assist with ventilation, document ABGs and EKGs, and support care teams under physician orders. This position requires maintaining certifications and ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Credentialed by the NBRC as a Certified Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• NRP Certification (only for NICU-trained therapists).
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care based on patient age and clinical criteria.
• Maintains professional certifications and knowledge of procedures.
• Attends staff meetings and performs other related duties.
