Job summary

Maine Veterans' Homes in Maine seeks compassionate Certified Residential Medication Aides (CRMA) to join our Residential Care team. The role combines CRMA medication administration with Personal Support Specialist duties to support residents’ daily living in a caring setting.

Expect 36 hours weekly with every other weekend, competitive pay based on experience, and benefits including MainePERS, health/dental/vision, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Candidates must possess a 40-hour CRMA certification and a PSS or CNA certification.
• Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, residents, families, and supervisors.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications accurately and safely in accordance with state regulations and facility policies.
• Monitor residents for medication effectiveness and side effects.
• Maintain accurate MARs.
• Communicate concerns or changes in resident condition to nursing staff.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support mobility, transfers, and ambulation as needed.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and feeding when required.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.

Join Our Care Team

We are seeking compassionate and dependable Certified Residential Medication Aides (CRMA) to join our team. CRMAs are assigned to our Residential Care area. In addition to a 40-hour CRMA certification, the ideal candidate will also possess a Personal Support Specialist (PSS) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.

Position Summary

The CRMA/Personal Support Specialist (PSS) is responsible for providing high-quality care and support to residents in a residential care setting. This role includes administering medications as a Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) and assisting residents with activities of daily living as a PSS. The CRMA/PSS works as part of a team to ensure a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment while promoting resident dignity, independence, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Medication Administration (CRMA Duties):

• Administer medications accurately and safely in accordance with state regulations and facility policies
• Monitor residents for medication effectiveness and potential side effects
• Maintain accurate medication administration records (MARs)
• Communicate any concerns or changes in resident condition to nursing staff

Personal Care & Support (PSS Duties):

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support mobility, transfers, and ambulation as needed
• Assist with meals, hydration, and feeding when required
• Provide companionship and emotional support

Requirements

• Candidates must possess a dual certification, including a current 40-hour CRMA and PSS or CNA
• Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, residents, families, and supervisors
