Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse to provide individualized, compassionate care that guides patients toward recovery, on our inpatient unit equipped with advanced technology and a collaborative team.

You will develop, implement, and evaluate each patient’s plan of care, oversee nursing and support staff, and coordinate with other departments. A CRRN certification and RN licensure are required; two years of inpatient rehab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid RN licensure as required by state regulations.
• Current RN licensure appropriate to state regulations.
• CPR certification (ACLS preferred).
• CRRN® certification required.
• Two years of experience in inpatient hospital setting preferred.
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care for each patient.
• Oversees care of patient provided by nursing and other staff on the assigned unit/shift.
• Communicates and collaborates with other departments to coordinate care.
• Documents care and changes in patient condition. Takes remedial actions when needed.
• Assumes the responsibility of Charge Nurse when needed and as assigned.
• Instructs patient/caregiver on tests, procedures, treatments, medications in understandable terms.
• Attends interdisciplinary conference, representing department and relaying nursing observations.
• Implements emergency response to crisis situations in the absence of senior management.
• Provides a minimum of two in‑services annually.
• Participates in identifying and implementing training needs for nurse development.
