Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Anesthetizes patients.
  2. Selects drugs for anesthesia and emergency treatment.
  3. Induces and maintains anesthesia.
  4. Monitors the patient and adjusts medications as needed.
  5. Treats variants of the anesthesia.
  6. Communicates patient's status with the surgeon, anesthetist, and Charge CRNA.
  7. Assesses patient status, interprets hemodynamic waveforms and equipment status.
  8. Takes corrective measures to keep patient in stable pre, peri and post anesthesia.
  9. Conducts thorough preop evaluation of patient including chart review.
  10. Instills confidence in patient.
  11. Organizes OR room with equipment, monitors, and drugs needed for the procedure.
  12. Performs diagnostic equipment checks.
  13. Coordinates with ancillary, nursing, and physician staff to ensure a safe environment for patient including positioning, equipment troubleshooting, and review of surgical procedure.
  14. Responds to codes and maintains the airway.
  15. Provides anesthesia support to assigned areas.
  16. Charts accurately, completely, and efficiently into patient EMR.
  17. Transports patient safely, continues to monitor airway, and gives sign-out report to receiving team.
  18. Serves as an anesthesia expert, mentor, and preceptor to peers, staff, residents, students, nurses, and ancillary staff.
