Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, CRNA, Elgin - Full Time

Join us as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at Advocate Health in Elgin. Be among the first 25 applicants.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide anesthesia services including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care, covering induction, maintenance, and emergence, with appropriate recording and corrective actions.
  • Perform pre-anesthesia assessments, ensuring readiness and equipment sterility.
  • Conduct post-anesthesia care, monitor patient recovery, and collaborate on pain management.
  • Manage narcotic accounting and respond to emergencies, including airway management and difficult IV placements.
  • Administer anesthesia under supervision when required and provide labor analgesia in the Birth Day Center.
  • Maintain current knowledge of scientific and clinical standards, participate in departmental improvements, and perform patient positioning and transport duties.
  • Provide age-appropriate care, assessing patient data to meet specific needs.
Licensure and Certification Requirements
  • RN license in the practicing state
  • CRNA certification from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists
  • Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber license in Wisconsin
  • DEA registration
  • PALS, ACLS, or NRP certifications obtained within 6 months, if required
Educational and Experience Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • No prior experience required
Skills and Abilities
  • Flexibility to meet department scheduling needs, including 24/7 call and weekends
Physical and Working Conditions
  • Visual and auditory function
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and perform transfers as specified
  • Exposure to hazards and requirement to wear protective gear as needed
