Job description

Join a team of 19 experienced CRNAs and CAA's at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center with a strong focus on research, innovation, and comprehensive patient care.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Perform pre-operative evaluations on assigned patients, review medical histories, consults, and tests, and initiate necessary monitoring and corrections.
2. Assist in patient positioning and ensure safety during procedures.
3. Induce anesthesia under the direction of the attending surgeon.
4. Administer anesthesia collaboratively with anesthesiologists and surgeons, supporting vital functions and maintaining appropriate anesthesia levels.
5. Manage pre- and post-anesthesia patient care, recognizing and correcting abnormal responses, and providing emergency interventions when needed.
6. Record all pertinent anesthesia data, communicate patient status to PACU nurses and surgeons, and follow infection control protocols.
7. Prepare and test equipment, disassemble and clean post-procedure, and ensure safety and readiness of supplies.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned, including assessment, planning, and coordination of patient care under anesthesiologist supervision.
