Job Description:

1. Coverage required on weekdays and weekends.
2. Shifts available include 8, 10, and 12 hours: 7a-3p, 7a-5p, 7a-7p.
3. Anesthetizing sites include 12 ORs and 9 NORA rooms.
4. Approximately 9,000 surgical cases per year.
5. Anesthesia team model consists of 9 MDs and 16 APPs.
6. MD:CRNA ratio is 1:3 within a care team model.
7. Physicians provide 99% supervision; self-performing cases are uncommon. Physicians are expected to be present for induction, emergence, participate in post-op care, and pre-op patient evaluation. This is a hands-on practice.
8. Types of cases include Level II trauma, orthopedic, spine, vascular, limited neuro, endoscopy, EP lab; no OB or transplants.
9. Trauma call involves in-house shifts starting at 3 pm and ending at 7 am.
10. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems used are Medaxion for anesthesia charting and Meditech for orders and reviewing patient records.
