Job Description: Anesthesiologist / CRNA
We are seeking qualified anesthesia providers to support a large, academic hospital with diverse cases including general, orthopedics, trauma, plastics, neurosurgery, pediatrics, endoscopy, NORA, robotic surgery, gynecology, ENT, and others. Please note that cases involving hearts, OB, or blocks are not included.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, prepare, and manage patients for anesthesia care in the perioperative and procedural periods.
- Develop and implement anesthetic plans tailored to each patient.
- Perform comprehensive history-taking and physical examinations.
- Obtain informed consent from patients.
- Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and post-operative assessments.
- Administer various anesthesia techniques including:
- General Anesthesia
- Regional Anesthesia
- Epidural and Spinal Anesthesia
- IV Regional Blocks
- Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)
Manage invasive monitoring and placement (CVP/CVC, pulmonary artery catheterization, intra-arterial lines).
Ensure airway management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of anesthesia experience, with the ability to 'hit the ground running' upon credentialing.
Additional Details:
- Note: 1/2 lunch is unpaid; CRNAs must clock in and out for lunch.
- Support staff includes anesthesia techs responsible for equipment turnover.
- On-site support includes multiple MDs and providers, with other anesthesia providers present during coverage.
- Patient population includes adult and pediatric surgical cases.
- Practice profile involves a mix of provider-owned cases and supervised cases under medical direction.
- CRNA to anesthesiologist ratio is approximately 2:1 or 3:1.
- Shift hours are flexible: 8 hours (6:30 am - 3 pm), 10 hours (6:30 am - 5 pm), or 12 hours (6:30 am - 7 pm, with a 7:30 am start on Thursdays).
- CRNAs do not require DEA licenses in PA, and temporary privileges are not offered.
