Job description

Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital, a part of Fairview Health Services, is looking for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its growing Anesthesiology department. Grand Itasca is a fully integrated multi-specialty clinic and hospital located in Northern Minnesota.

POSITION: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Casual FTE

WORK SCHEDULE: Days/Evenings

DEPARTMENT: Medical Staff

Practice Opportunity

Grand Itasca currently employs six full-time CRNAs to cover general surgery, OB/Gyn, orthopedics, urology, spine, dental and endoscopies.

CRNA responsibilities include:

  • Pre-anesthetic patient evaluations
  • Selection of anesthetic agents and techniques
  • Insertion of intravenous catheters, invasive monitoring catheters, endotracheal intubation and extubation
  • Perform arterial punctures for interpretation of arterial blood gases
  • Monitor and manage patient's physical response to anesthetic
  • Perform ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks
  • Perform neuraxial anesthesia
  • Epidural/intrathecal placement for OB
  • Respond to emergencies throughout the hospital

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board Certified by NBCRNA
  • Licensed in State of MN
  • Previous experience preferred, however new graduate considered
