Job summary

Gold Coast Surgery Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its team at Water Tower Place.

This ambulatory center focuses on orthopedic and sports medicine cases, with on-site collaboration from fellowship-trained anesthesiologists and flexible FT/PT schedules.

Compensation includes base salary around $290,000, malpractice coverage, profit sharing, benefits, and CME funds.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program.
• Current IL RN license and IL CRNA license.
• Graduate of an approved anesthesia program.
• Current certification with the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (or eligible).

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients pre-operatively and assesses their status for anesthesia.
• Reviews the patient's medical record with the anesthesiologists regarding the anesthesia plan.
• Utilizes and prepares all essential equipment and supplies to enhance effective and safe anesthesia delivery.
• Administers anesthesia and/or analgesia for surgical procedures.
• Monitors all necessary parameters to determine the patient's condition and reaction to surgery and anesthesia.
• Advises and/or consults the anesthesiologist regarding adverse reactions.
• Provides appropriate action as directed or required during anesthetic administration.
• Determines blood loss and other fluid therapy needs in consultation with the anesthesiologists.
• Records the patient's status on the clinical anesthesia record prior to, during, and following anesthesia administered by anesthesiologists.
• Escorts patients to the recovery room and provides a comprehensive report on all aspects of the patient's condition to recovery room personnel.
• Provides emergency and resuscitative care for the entire GCS. Completes required post-operative anesthesia visits using department forms or progress notes.
• Functions as a resource and assists in the educational process related to IVs, IV therapy, respiratory care, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Maintains current anesthesia expertise and competency, and completes requirements for re-certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

Gold Coast Surgery Center is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its team at its four-room ambulatory surgery center located in Water Tower Place in Chicago.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CRNA interested in a focused ambulatory surgical environment, with the majority of cases involving orthopedic and sports medicine procedures and relatively healthy patients. An on-site, regional fellowship-trained anesthesiologist is available for clinical collaboration and support.
