Job summary

The Center for Living and Rehabilitation seeks a Recreation/Activities Director to lead and oversee the facility's activity programs. This role guides policy development, coordinates community planning, and ensures activities align with resident needs and safety plans.

The ideal candidate should have eligibility for therapeutic recreation certification or related OT background and a track record in therapeutic settings, with a focus on resident-centered planning and coordination with families.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to be certified as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized body (on/after 1990) or
• 2 years of full-time experience in a therapeutic program (social or recreational) within the last 5 years
• Qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) or OT assistant or
• Completed a State-approved training course

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs of this facility.
• Assist in the development, administering, and coordinating of department policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for identifying medically related activity needs of residents.
• Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of residents and families.
• Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Involve residents and families in planning facility activity programs.
• Assist in arranging transportation to other facilities when necessary.
