Job summary

MHP seeks a full-time Certified Recovery Specialist to deliver mobile, community-based recovery services for individuals with Opioid Use Disorder and co-occurring issues. You will empower clients, teach self-advocacy, and connect them with community resources.

The role is based at 7200 Chestnut Street, Upper Darby, with a 8:30 AM–4:30 PM schedule, $19/hour, and comprehensive benefits for employees. Join us in promoting wellness and resilience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School or GED Diploma; Associates Degree in a Human Services related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year sober from all substances
• Credentialed as a Certified Recovery Specialist and certified through the PA Certification Board.
• Within the last three years, maintained at least 12 months of successful full or part-time paid or voluntary work experience.
• Must possess basic computer skills to perform job duties including desktop computing, e-mail, timesheet management, electronic health records, internet research, etc.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with participants to create self-directed goals to assist them in their path to sobriety and overall recovery.
• Support participants with building a sober network and access to resources, budgeting, housing options, and support plans.
• Attend socialization activities such as resource fairs, recovery walks, and meetings.
• Create crisis plans and facilitate recovery support groups with participants.
• Document participant progress in the electronic health records system.
• Perform other duties to fulfill MHP's mission.

MHP hiring a full-time Certified Recovery Specialist to provide mobile, flexible, community-based services designed to promote empowerment, recovery, and community integration of individuals who have challenges with Opioid Use Disorder and Co-occurring Substance Misuse. Certified Recovery Specialists facilitate opportunities for individuals receiving service to direct their own recovery and advocacy process by teaching and supporting individuals with the acquisition and utilization of skills, promoting knowledge of available service options, choices and the utilization of natural resources in the community, and helping facilitate the development of a sense of wellness and self-worth.

The position is located at 7200 Chestnut Street, Upper Darby, PA 19082, with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, and an rate of $19.00/hour. As an MHP employee, you will have access to the following benefits:

What you'll do!

• Support participants with building a sober network, Opioid and substance misuse resources, educational, employment, and social related goals, benefit/medical resources, budgeting skills and exploring housing options in accordance with their support plan.


• Attend socialization activities, such as attending resource fairs, recovery walks, recovery learning centers, 12 step meetings, etc.


• In collaboration with participants, create crisis plans, facilitate recovery support groups on participants' interests as needed.


• Collaboratively document participant progress in the electronic health records system.


• Other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP's mission

Requirements

• Strong skillsets in oral and written communication, cultural competence, interpersonal relationships and teamwork, attention to detail, customer service, time management, autonomy, problem solving and organization.


• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines and billable unit requirements, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
