Job summary

Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, TX is seeking a Certified Radiology Technologist to perform a range of radiographic examinations with professional judgment. You will follow radiation safety standards, maintain patient identification accuracy, and support image quality and accuracy in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires an Associates degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT (RT), and Texas licensure (TMB), with clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology with an Associates degree or equivalent.
• BCLS required.
• Must be ARRT (RT).
• Must have Texas Medical Board license (TMB).
• Clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in radiation exposure and monitoring.
• Demonstrates competency in ALARA and dose equivalent limits.
• Demonstrates competency and knowledge of Radiation physics.
• Demonstrates competency with critical behaviors and age specific care.
• Demonstrates competency with appropriate method of patient identifiers. Two IDs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of proper radiation protection of patients and employees in accordance with ACR, NRC, and ARRT (time, distance, shielding).
• Demonstrates knowledge of automatic exposure control (AEC)
• Demonstrates knowledge of image processing and quality assurance.
• Demonstrates knowledge for criteria for image evaluation.
• Demonstrates knowledge of image distortion (magnification, OID, SID).
