Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville, KY is seeking a Radiologic Tech to perform radiographic examinations, support radiologists, and ensure patient safety. This role requires meticulous technique, patient interaction, and teamwork within the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

You will train with ARRT-registered staff, maintain credentials, assist with contrast media, and contribute to quality-improvement initiatives while upholding radiation protection standards in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRC approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT registered or eligible for registration.
• KY Radiation Operator certification (KBMIRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of general radiography experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic examinations according to department protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient identification and order verification.
• Apply radiation safety practices, including shielding and collimation.
• Prepare for and assist radiologists with complex procedures.
• Prepare and administer contrast media per policy and regulations.
• Educate patients before and after exams.
• Instruct Radiologic Technology students in positioning and technique.
• Maintain credentials and participate in staff meetings.
