Job summary

Manay CPA in Atlanta, GA seeks an experienced CPA to lead tax planning and accounting advisory for diverse clients. You will manage financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive client success across engagements.

You will mentor junior staff, support onboarding, and contribute to new business development while leveraging QuickBooks and other accounting tools in a collaborative, growth-oriented firm environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/related field required; CPA/EA required.
• 5+ years of accounting and tax experience; public accounting preferred.
• Proven ability in tax planning and advisory beyond compliance.
• Experience in client acquisition and growth initiatives.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with clients and partners.
• International tax knowledge is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage clients' financial operations including taxation, accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll.
• Ensure compliance with US tax laws and timely filing of returns and payments.
• Lead tax planning and advisory for assigned clients to reduce tax liability.
• Collaborate with sales/BD to originate and pursue new client opportunities.
• Manage AR/AP processes, invoicing, collections, and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks and other software.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights for performance and efficiency.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and support onboarding of engagements.

Responsibilities

• Manage clients' financial operations, including taxation, accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll management.
• Ensure strict compliance with US taxation laws and regulations, including the timely filing of tax returns and payments.
• Lead tax planning and advisory for assigned clients, identifying opportunities to reduce tax liability and support their long-term financial goals.
• Collaborate closely with the sales and business development team to originate and pursue new client opportunities, including proposals, pitches, and client meetings, and help grow the firm's client base.
• Manage accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes, encompassing invoicing, collections, payments, and meticulous reconciliation.
• Maintain meticulous and current financial records and documentation, utilizing advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks.
• Analyze financial data and trends to derive actionable insights and recommendations aimed at enhancing financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Foster collaboration across departments to align financial strategies with business initiatives and strategic objectives.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff, cultivating a supportive and collaborative work environment.
• Facilitate smooth client onboarding processes for all assigned engagements, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
• Actively contribute to client acquisition and retention efforts, delivering unparalleled customer service at every interaction.
• Organize and update financial records, both digital and physical, to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• May participate in external audits, collaborating with auditors and providing required documentation and information as needed.
• Prepare comprehensive year-end audit schedules and provide support throughout the audit process as needed.
• Assist in documenting, designing, and testing processes and procedures impacting financial statements or company performance.
• Drive efficiency by assisting in the automation of systems and spreadsheets to streamline accounting functions and processes

Job Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related; Master's degree is a plus
• CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential is a must
• 5+ years of professional experience in accounting and tax, with a strong focus on tax planning and advisory. Public accounting experience is preferred
• Proven experience advising clients on tax strategy/planning beyond compliance and preparation is a huge plus
• Demonstrated experience in, or strong appetite for, client acquisition and business development, such as originating new engagements, leading proposals and pitches, or growing existing client relationships
• Strategic, growth-oriented mindset, with a genuine interest in long-term career advancement; strong performers may grow into leadership responsibilities over time
• Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and referral partners
• International tax knowledge is a strong plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confidence presenting to clients
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with QuickBooks and/or other accounting software
• Experience with UltraTax and/or other tax preparation software
• Dependable, self-directed, and detail-oriented, with an end-result-oriented work style
• Positive team player and fast learner who masters new concepts quickly
