Job summary

OP Specialty Bracing is seeking a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist to join our growing team in Los Angeles. We focus on pediatric orthotics and prosthetics, delivering comprehensive care across clinics nationwide.

As part of our clinical team, you will assess patients, design devices, and collaborate with physicians to meet individual needs. Our mission centers on improving children’s quality of life through innovative Orthotic and Prosthetic solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
• 2+ years related experience and/or training
• MSPO degree
• Completion of NCOPE certified residency program

Responsibilities

• Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine appliance needs and fit.
• Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients; adjust fit, function, and comfort.
• Instruct patients in use and care of orthoses/prostheses.
• Design orthopedic devices based on physicians' prescriptions and measurements.
• Make and modify plaster casts for areas to be fitted with orthoses.
• Select materials and components to be used based on device design.
• Confer with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions for orthopedic devices.
• Repair, rebuild, and modify orthopedic appliances.
• Construct and fabricate appliances or direct others constructing the appliances.
• Perform all other duties as required.

Education

Bachelor's degree (B.A.)

Two plus years related experience and/or training

Master's of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics (MSPO)

Completion of NCOPE certified residency program

Responsibilities:

• Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine their appliance needs; identify factors affecting appliance fit.
• Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients; make adjustments for proper fit, function, and comfort.
• Instruct patients in the use and care of orthoses/prostheses.
• Design orthopedic devices, based on physicians' prescriptions and examination/measurement of patients.
• Make and modify plaster casts of areas that will be fitted with orthoses, for use in the device construction process.
• Select materials and components to be used based on device design.
• Confer with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions for orthopedic devices.
• Repair, rebuild, and modify orthopedic appliances.
• Construct and fabricate appliances or direct others constructing the appliances.
• Performs all other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
• Two plus years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
• Master's of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics (MSPO)
• Completion of NCOPE certified residency program
