Job summary

OP Specialty Bracing in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist to join our pediatric-focused team. You will collaborate with physicians to design and fit orthopedic devices that improve mobility for children.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
• Two plus years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master's of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics (MSPO).
• Completion of NCOPE certified residency program.

Responsibilities

• Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine appliance needs and fit.
• Fit, test, and adjust devices for proper fit, function, and comfort.
• Instruct patients in the use and care of orthoses/prostheses.
• Design orthopedic devices based on physicians' prescriptions and patient measurements.
• Create plaster casts for orthoses to be used in device construction.
• Select materials and components based on device design.
• Collaborate with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions.
• Repair, rebuild, and modify orthopedic appliances.
• Construct and supervise fabrication of appliances.
• Perform additional duties as required.

OP Specialty Bracing is growing, and we believe our team is the key to our success. We are hiring a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist to join our team. If you are a motivated, caring individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of children.

Responsibilities:

Provides care to patients with disabling conditions of limbs and spine by fitting/preparing orthopedic braces under the direction of, and in consultation with, physicians by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

• Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine their appliance needs; identify factors affecting appliance fit.
• Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients; make adjustments for proper fit, function, and comfort.
• Instruct patients in the use and care of orthoses/prostheses.
• Design orthopedic devices, based on physicians' prescriptions and examination/measurement of patients.
• Make and modify plaster casts of areas that will be fitted with orthoses, for use in the device construction process.
• Select materials and components to be used based on device design.
• Confer with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions for orthopedic devices.
• Repair, rebuild, and modify orthopedic appliances.
• Construct and fabricate appliances or direct others constructing the appliances.
• Performs all other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
• Two plus years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
• Master's of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics (MSPO)
• Completion of NCOPE certified residency program

The pay range for this role is:

75,000 - 115,000 USD per year (Annapolis)
