Job summary

Kettering Health Dayton is seeking a full-time sterile processing technician for the 3rd shift. Responsibilities include decontaminating, sorting, assembling, wrapping, and sterilizing instruments and supplies for surgical cases. The role requires HS Diploma or GED and preferred experience in sterile processing.

Candidates will operate a Windows-based system as part of daily tasks, with emphasis on accuracy, speed, and teamwork to support patient care across our Dayton facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in sterile processing preferred.
• Ability to operate Windows-based software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination on instruments, equipment, and other items as needed.
• Sorts and cleans instruments and equipment by hand and/or washer/disinfectant.
• Assembles, wraps, and packages instruments, instrument trays, and supplies.
• Sterilizes instruments and supplies using available sterilizers as trained.
• Picks instruments, instrument trays, and supplies for surgery in a timely manner.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs decontamination on instruments, equipment, and other items as needed.
• Sorts and cleans instruments and equipment by hand and/or washer/disinfectant.
• Assembles, wraps, and packages instruments, instrument trays, and supplies.
• Sterilizes instruments and supplies using STERRAD, steam and ethylene oxide gas sterilizers as trained.
• “Picks” instruments, instrument trays, supplies, in a timely matter for surgery.
• Performs basic computer functions using a Windows based system as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Previous related experience and certification strongly preferred.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
