Job summary

Texas Health Denton is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our PRN team. The work location is 3000 N I-35 Denton, TX 76201 with coverage on weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities include instrument tray scanning, proper assembly, wrapping, and tracking using the SPM system, plus decontamination and testing of washers and eyewash/shower equipment. PRN schedule with weekday evenings and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year sterile processing experience preferred.
• CSPDT/CBSPD/CRCST certification upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Performs scanning of instrument trays for location and creation of count sheet/label.
• Demonstrates proper assembly technique for instrument trays.
• Demonstrates wrapping/containing of instruments/trays.
• Performs scanning of instrument trays to track location using the SPM system.
• Demonstrates decontamination process according to policy and procedure.
• Performs tests and documents as directed to ensure proper operation of washers and Emergency Eyewash and Shower.
• Demonstrates the proper loading technique for sterilization method
• Scans prepared items into correct sterilizer load.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

CSPDT - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution

CBSPD - Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution

CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Technician
