Job Description

CREC Preschool at Progress Drive in Wethersfield is seeking a Certified Pre-K Teacher who will understand and support the natural development of children and their relationship with the environment. Candidates must be knowledgeable about the Preschool Assessment Framework and the CT Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDs). Under the supervision of a School Principal, teachers will facilitate student success and growth through implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting outcomes, and creating a flexible, safe, and culturally responsive learning environment. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, providing instruction, participating on school teams, and attending meetings with students and/or parents.

Additional Information for Current CREC Employees

Seniority will be determined according to the CRECEA contract. Priority will be given based on:

  1. Seniority within participating schools
  2. Internal transfer requests from non-participating schools
  3. Current PreK teachers at CREC schools
Interested candidates must submit a letter of intent to be considered.
Requirements
  • Must hold or be eligible for CT State Certification in Early Childhood Birth to Kindergarten (Endorsement 112) or Nursery-to-Grade 3 (Endorsement 113).
  • Experience in early childhood education required; expertise in early literacy/numeracy preferred.
  • Knowledge of ELDS and Preschool Assessment Framework essential.
  • Previous public school Pre-K teaching experience with a diverse population is preferred.
  • Minority and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
