Requirements Include

• Age/Citizenship: At least 21 years of age and a citizen of the United States.
• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate recognized by the State of Maryland.

• Pass drug, alcohol screening, and physical agility tests.
• Meet the training standards mandated by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission.
• Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record per MTA standards.
• Recertify with MPTSC within 1 to 5 years of previous certification; can receive credit up to 3 years of service.

Special Requirements

• Work 40 hours per week, including variable shifts, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
• Subject to pre-employment drug testing and substance abuse testing.
