Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a certified pipe fitter to install, assemble, and test complex ship piping systems on Navy vessels. You will read blueprints, fabricate components, and ensure systems meet stringent quality and safety standards.

The role requires a pipefitting certificate or diploma, ability to read plans, lift 40 pounds, and pass a background check. You may train through the Fundamentals of Pipe Fitting program and work multiple shifts as

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in pipe fitting or a related field.
• Able to read blueprints and take measurements.
• Must pass a background investigation and drug screen.
• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow blueprints to install, fabricate, inspect and test ship piping systems onboard a ship.
• Attend Fundamentals of Pipe Fitting class and participate in ongoing training to enhance skills.
• Possess flexibility to work multiple shifts as required.
