Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a dedicated lab supervisor to lead the 2nd shift evenings in our hospital's phlebotomy services. You will oversee staffing, training, and compliance while coordinating student clinical experiences.

The role requires 2+ years in a laboratory setting and 1+ year leadership; associate degree preferred. Strong communication, regulatory knowledge, and proficiency with MS Office are essential.

Qualifications

  • Leadership/management experience [Preferred]
  • 2+ years of related laboratory experience [Required]
  • Ability to ensure departmental compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements [Required]
  • Exhibits technical skills and aptitudes related to specific laboratory specimen collections [Required]
  • Displays the ability to comprehend, measure, reason, match, problem solve, and exercise judgment under minimal supervision [Required]
  • Exhibits ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities [Required]
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in written form in English with patients, staff, and customers [Required]
  • Exercises mature, independent judgment and the ability to handle confidential information [Required]
  • Builds and maintains effective teams and peer relationships [Required]
  • Ability to utilize standard computer related applications (MS Office) [Required]
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
  • Basic computer skills and MS Office knowledge [Required]
  • Phlebotomy knowledge to evaluate effectiveness and outcomes [Required]
  • Maintain records and prepare reports/correspondence related to phlebotomy [Required]
  • Address phlebotomy complaints through established channels [Required]

  • Up-to-date phlebotomy practice knowledge in order to appropriately evaluate effectiveness and identify factors that may impact desired outcomes. [Required]
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports/correspondence related to phlebotomy services. [Required]
  • Ability to address phlebotomy complaints and elevate through established channels, as needed. [Required]
Education:
  • Associate [Preferred]
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Work Experience:
  • 1+ years of leadership/management experience [Preferred]
  • 2+ years of related laboratory experience [Required]
