Qualifications

• 1 year of previous pharmacy experience required.
• South Carolina Pharmacy Technician Registration.
• State and National Certifications required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
• Uses computer system to maintain accuracy of medication documentation or charges, charging for dispensed medications and crediting medications that are returned to the pharmacy.
• Assists the Pharmacists in the Operation of the Drug Distribution System and participates in staff huddles.
• Performs state certified technician tasks as outlined by South Carolina Board of Pharmacy under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Works well with others and as a part of a team.
• Maintains Organization and Cleanliness of Work Environment.
• Specialty Pharmacy: collaborates with physician offices to obtain specialty prescriptions, initiates prior authorizations, researches copay assistance, maintains budgetary reporting.
• Infusion Services: uses sterile technique, prepares IV admixtures, utilizes technology to compound and refill medications.
