Responsibilities

• Maintains a professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
• Implement a bedside program to help patients receive their medication and prescription education upon discharge.
• Gather patient information and market the program.
• Process prescriptions requested by the patient.
• Exhausts all efforts to communicate with the patient any issue or delay in filling their prescriptions.
• Works collaboratively with other health care professionals to ensure patients receive medications on discharge.
• Notifies Pharmacist and contacts the provider promptly when there is a concern about a prescription.
• Investigate and resolve third-party payment issues.
• Serve patients with a professional, caring demeanor for quality patient experience.
• Maintain proper records and documents as required by state and federal laws.
• Submit data collection daily on patient and prescription count.
• Post transactions in delivery bin.
• Handle cash register transactions and correct issues.
• Participate in meetings with other departments related to discharge patients.
• Prioritize and fill prescriptions based on wait times, discharges, Pyxis, etc.
• Work with Pharmacists, technicians, and health care team to help patients with dropping off or picking up prescriptions including cash handling.
• Ensure supplies and inventory are stocked daily.
• Fill bottles and affix labels for verification by Pharmacist.
• Load prescription bags into will-call system and consolidate daily.
• Return stock medications following procedure.
• Receive courier bags properly.
• Count and close each register nightly, prepare daily deposit forms, and handle morning cash.
• Maintain and refill robot daily.
• Assist Pharmacist in daily outpatient pharmacy operations.
• Participate in department huddles.
