Job summary

GLOBAL CONSULTING INTERNATIONAL (GCI) seeks a pharmacy technician to cover Hill AFB outpatient pharmacy on a PRN basis. Expect 8 hours weekly, up to 40 hours, with daytime hours Monday–Friday and duties including dispensing, order entry, and patient support.

Requirements include ASHP-accredited training or US military program, PTCB certification, and BLS. At least 1 year of recent pharmacy tech experience is expected; public trust clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain a public trust security clearance.
• Graduate from an ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician program or military US program; proof required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) and BLS certification are required.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of pharmacy technician duties in outpatient settings.
• Dispense and process new and refilled prescriptions; enter orders into databases.
• Provide information support including drug interactions and adverse reaction reporting.
• Conduct quality improvement tasks such as inventory review and reports.
• Handle supply processes including ordering, stocking, and stock reports.

Job description

Job Type: PRN

We are looking for someone who can provide coverage in the Hill AFB outpatient pharmacy on an as-needed basis when other employees are on vacation, ill, or otherwise absent from work.

Work Hours: The pharmacy hours are Monday – Friday daytime. Your hours would vary based on the coverage needed in the pharmacy and your availability. Ideally, you would work about 8 hours a week, but never more than 40 hours a week.

Hourly wage: $22.30 – $26

Qualifications

• Clearance: Candidates must have ability to obtain a public trust security clearance.

Education

Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military. Must be able to show proof of training.

Certification

Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). BLS is also required.

Experience

One year of experience as a pharmacy technician in the last 2 years.

TYPE OF WORK

• Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures.
• Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.
• Perform information consultation duties including supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician’s requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.
• Perform quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
• Perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock reports.
