Job summary

Southeast Health in Alabama is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician for the night shift to support the pharmacy team in a hospital setting. You will stock Pyxis cabinets, prepare medications for unit doses, restock carts, and assist the pharmacist with daily operations.

Responsibilities include handling narcotics per policy, supporting sterile compounding when assigned, performing med rec interviews, and helping maintain a clean, compliant pharmacy environment. LPN/EMT candidates considered.

Qualifications

• Must have Alabama Board of Pharmacy Technician license or be able to obtain before employment.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) or equivalent certification.
• LPN/Advanced EMT or military-trained technicians will be considered.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• 1–3 years as a pharmacy technician in hospital or retail settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stock and maintain Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
• Maintain and rotate pharmacy inventory.
• Prepare medications for cart fill and Pyxis restocks.
• Package medications for unit dose use.
• Handle narcotics per policy for Pyxis restocks.
• Answer pharmacy telephone calls.
• Assist pharmacist as needed.
• Sterile IV compounding per USP 797 guidelines when assigned.
• Maintain annual competencies per USP 797 when assigned.

• Restock/anesthesia carts when assigned.
