Job summary

BMCHS is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician III for Inpatient Pharmacy support. The role includes ensuring high quality patient-focused services and providing training oversight for Technicians I & II.

Candidate must be MA-registered, nationally certified (CPT or ExCPT), with at least four years of related experience and competency in pediatric chemo/IV preparation for inpatient operations.

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES, & REGISTRATIONS

• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy.
• Must also have national certification (CPT) from Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam of Certified Pharmacy Techs (exCPT)

EXPERIENCE

• Requires minimum of four years of related experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Requires excellent interpersonal skills, telephone communications skills and pharmaceutical calculation skills.
• Must be able perform at a high level in all aspects of outpatient pharmacy operations and must maintain competency in all areas of outpatient pharmacy..

Requirements for Inpatient :

Must be able to compound Pediatric IV, Chemo IV and must maintain competency in all areas of inpatient pharmacy.

Technicians will be required to complete the following prior to working in the IV room:

• IV Room Competency exam (minimum passing score of 90%)
• USP 797 Competency exam (minimum passing score of 85%)
• Hazardous Drug Competency exam (minimum 90%)
• Pediatric Competency exam (90%)

Compensation Range:

$26.92- $37.74
